Balloon
Decorations
|
One of the most
enjoyable aspects of your wedding day will be the reception. The
90's bride has sophisticated tastes an looks to create a unique
atmosphere perhaps with decorations in flowers decorations etc.
but now there is another increasingly popular option, Balloons!
Now if this has given you a mental image of some twerp in a
penguin suit twisting balloons into what vaguely resembles a
giraffe, think again. We are talking about high quality multi
coloured coordinated balloon decorations. Balloon decorating has
been very popular in America & Canada for many years where
balloons are used for many occasions not just weddings. This form
of decorating is now without doubt an established component of
wedding decor in the UK.
In the hands of a skilled balloon artist they take on a whole life
of their own, they are a unique art form which can offer colour,
sophistication and stunning effects that no other medium can come
close to. There are at present some 4,000 registered balloon
decorators in the UK. and most offer a personal service and will
be pleased to discuss the bride and grooms ideas without
obligation. Many firms work from home, but do not let this put you
off , as we write this over 60% of small businesses are currently
working from home. A few specialist party shops offer this service
but these tend to be in the city, also some florists are offering
balloons as an add on , but generally if you are looking for a
professional result it is more prudent to to approach a balloon
specialist, after all you would not dream of having your wedding
dress made by a curtain shop that could "probably knock you up a
tidy dress if you want", Would you??
Modern balloons are made of latex or special plastic foil, and are
available in a whole host of colours and patterns and are also
available in pastel, crystal and pearl finishes making the
possibilities of colour co-ordination almost endless. Balloon
decorating has in the past been looked upon as an expensive
addition to the cost of a wedding, but as is always the case as
the volume of balloon imports has increased, the prices have come
down, in fact this form of decoration is now looked upon as a very
cost effective form of producing visually stunning effects at
reasonable prices.
There are however a few points to note if you are considering
balloon decorations, we have listed a couple of points to help you
chose wisely.
i) Do not make decision based on the quality of brochure you are
sent, the photographs used may not be the work of the decorator
using them.
ii) Arrange a personal meeting and ask to see photographs of the
work of the decorator.
iii) See samples of the balloons to be sure they are the colour
you want.
iv) Get a firm quotation, preferably in writing of what you will
get, when you will get it, and when you will pay.
v) It is acceptable to pay a deposit of say 10%, with the balance
due shortly before the day.
